Type For An Adventure!
Here's a fun little project I did recently. It's a typeface I designed while drawing inspiration from old 8-bit games and pixel art that I found scattered all over Pinterest. These games are always fun and bright and never leave me in a bad mood afterwards. So let me introduce to you Pixel Quest!
In The Hot Seat
So here's a little bit about myself, I made this project on a whiteboard! Everything you see was drawn with dry erase markers (except for the other artwork I put on it.)
Return of the King (no, not lord of the rings)
Here's an MLK day poster I did at the beginning of this spring semester. I decided to take a different route from my previous work in that this time around my poster has no photography work and that I left the imagery a little more abstract.

Influence to Inspiration
So to no huge surprise, I draw a lot of inspiration from videogames that I've played in the past. Titles such as Darksiders, really inspire my creativity and add fuel to my more fantastical design ideas.
My pinterest board speaks volumes to what inspires me as a designer, and those boards only continue to grow day in and day out. This is a link to something I pinned a while ago; it's a page of some crazy awesome whiteboard illustrations that people have done. Being someone who really appreciates the art, I was head over heels when I stumbled across this page.

Before I forget here's a like to my pinterest wall in case you want to look further into what I like and where I draw my influences from.

Inspiration for EVERYBODY!
I don't think that there's any one source that I can point to and say that's where all my inspiration comes from. So here's a small list of people I listen to and draw from. I've also added links to their sites if you want to further explore these people.
First off we have this man here,
This is Olan Rogers to any of you who don't know him. I first found him on youtube where he found his claim to fame (more or less.) But what inspires me about him is that he got to where he is now just doing what he loves and letting his personality flourish into his work. He just does what he loves and is willing to pour his heart into others accordingly.
Here's a link to his youtube page,

And another to his website,

So another guy that just inspires me to make really fun work has to be Alex Solis,
He does a lot of t-shirt design work and is really good at illustrations. I really enjoy looking through his work from time to time just to get inspired and as a reminder to have fun with whatever project I'm working on. Here's his site,

Something to Inspire You, and Something to Annoy You
So here's the thing, everyone has their own opinion as to what makes up a good design and what doesn't. Here's a poster (cause I like poster design a lot) that I think really pulls off its concept well. After having recently seeing the movie and falling in love with it, I found the design to be very fitting to the movie's aesthetic which is a little ironic when you consider the deep shadows used in the movie.

The poster itself was designed by John Aslarona and I feel that it captures the isolated feeling that Ridley Scott made so real to the viewer in the movie.
On the other hand, one of my friends showed me this clip the other day and it has rung with me ever since. If you want to know what pure evil looks like, then look no further than this clip on how to annoy a designer.

Retrospective
Here's a few projects that I've completed within the last year.
First is a group project creating end credits for the Disney classic, Peter Pan.
Another group project was an animated short challenging extremism.

And the final group video projects I worked on in conjunction to one another were 2 commercials for Levi's jeans
